The girls’ friend Charlotte and her cousin Kaylea started Prep today – whilst Sheri and TJ emarked on the adventure that is Grade Two. Aunty Terri took these photos this morning. Doesn’t everyone look all grown up!! Hard to imagine that this will be Sarah next year…
Sarah’s tattoo :)
Sarah and her pre-prep class celebrated Australia Day today by having a BBQ for lunch. She came home sporting a flag tattoo on her arm. She’s pretty chuffed with it, and even more so that it didn’t come off in the bath tonight!
A Day out at Lowood
Sarah and Becky went out to Lowood today to visit their Grandparents. Becky and Nagymama played trains and blocks while Sarah and Grandad played the Wii. And when I say played the Wii, I mean that Sarah did most of the playing whilst Grandad got to watch – though he was the ONLY person who was allowed to help her play pool. Afterwards they went to collect flowers out in garden and check out some wriggly wriggly worms!
Sarah’s Drawings
Sarah’s been doing lots of drawing this afternoon. First she brought these ones over for me to see – a collection of monsters!
And then a little while later she came back with a portrait of Daddy:
But it was the last one that really made me smile. Sarah came over with a drawing of concentric circles. When I asked her to tell me about the picture she replied very matter-of-factly that it was a “wormhole for spaceships”. Jim is so proud ;)
Cobey
We were invited to dinner and wii at Cobey’s house this evening. All afternoon Cobey was standing by the door, watching every car that went passed. He was so serious about it that Nikki took a photo and asked him what he was up to.
“What are you doing, Cobey?”
“I’m waiting for Sarah”
Friday’s Outing
This morning took us out to Blue Mountain park at Springfield Lakes again. It was rather on the warm side… so eventually we did bail for Macca’s :) While we were there Becky made friends with an older girl in a blue t-shirt. For about 2 hours the girl carried Becky around the park, holding her hand, going down the slides, pushing her on the swings :) Becky lapped it all up. She LOVES being the baby.
On the way home we swung by Harvey Norman to pick up a few things. Sarah noticed a staff member setting up “Guitar Hero” on a TV. Her hovering and smiles paid off when he asked her if she wanted to have a turn.
Spinach! She ate SPINACH!
Not only did Sarah eat spinach, not only did she ask for more spinach, but she ate it in preference to her chicken nuggets!! I nearly fainted – but thought I should get the camera instead to document this miracle. Oh, and contrary to the evidence below… I do actually wash Becky from time to time. I have no idea what she had smooshed all over her face.
A Playdate at Grande Ave Park
It might not have been the ‘Snow Park’ that Sarah had originally asked for, but I think Grande Ave Park at Springfield Lakes did the trick. The girls had a marvellous time with ‘Cole, Cobey, Eva, Stella, Isla and about 47 million flies. Or that’s how it felt anyway!
