Sarah and Becky’s Story!

Treasured Daughters of Jim and Wendy

Playing in the Rain

Filed under: Becky — Wendy at 3:12 pm on Tuesday, December 29, 2009

It’s been raining here for about a week now… and the kids are starting to go a little stir-crazy in the house. So to let off some energy we all went for a run out in the rain before getting dressed this morning. Becky wasn’t so sure about it at first, but once out in the rain it was hard to get her to come in again!

Out in the Garden

After being cooped up in the house for almost the last week, we seized a moment between showers to run outside and explore the garden while Jim checked that the gutters were clear. The girls enjoyed splashing in the puddles – and making them bigger with the tank water! – and picking up the frangipani flowers that were scattered on the ground. I think once the rain finally clears that we need to mow! The cubby house (and Kormos) are fast disappearing under the grass…

Sarah – Miss January!

Back in September Sarah drew a “Sun Safety” poster and we entered the Destination Zero calendar competition that Jim’s work has run for the last couple of years. Employee’s children are invited to create posters with a safety message and twelve are selected for the next year’s poster. And guess who won!!!!!  May I introduce January’s artist – “Sarah Gooch, aged 3 1/2. Sarah is the daughter of James Gooch, Quality and Environment Manager of our Crestmead milk site in Queensland”

Kindy Christmas Party

Filed under: Christmas,Sarah — Wendy at 10:44 pm on Friday, December 18, 2009

Today was Sarah’s Kindy Christmas party – with two very special visitors, Santa AND Daddy!! Sarah also got to have a serious one-on-one conversation with Santa as he was leaving. She would still like some ‘ski poles’ please. She’s been asking for snow nearly every week since we got home from Tasmania – a tough ask in Brisbane, especially at the moment!

A Christmas Trip to the City

Filed under: Becky,Christmas,Outings,Sarah — Wendy at 2:22 pm on Thursday, December 17, 2009

It’s nearly Christmas! We took a bus ride into the city to meet our running friends, to visit Santa and to see the Myer Christmas windows. It was a very fun (if a little intense at times!) trip and might I had a huge ” Well Thanks Very Much” to Myer for giving 6 of our kids recorders as present from Santa…  really, thanks! Really. NOT!! :P

Becky’s Day at School

Filed under: Becky,Outings — Wendy at 4:53 pm on Monday, December 14, 2009

Becky came along to school today for a special excursion. We went with the Pre Prep kids up there road to the church hall to sing songs for all the Grandmas. Afterwards there was cake and juice. Becky was so desperate to stay at school after the excursion that she hopped onto one of the beds and pretended to be asleep!

Wiggles!!

The culmination of a HUGE weekend – today we went to see the Wiggles in concert, along with the Stangherlins and ‘Cole. Sarah was transfixed, while Becky seemed to take the “Wiggles Concert” literally. She squirmed, climbed, wriggled, wormed, crawled and danced the entire time.  The stage this time was somewhat minimalist with a lot of acrobatics. When I’m 60 I hope to be half as flexible as Jeff!

Sarah & Becky’s First Disco!

Filed under: Becky,Outings,Sarah — Wendy at 7:52 pm on Saturday, December 12, 2009

This evening Sarah, Becky, Cobey and Eva went to the Carindale PCYC Micro Dance! It’s a disco (with jumping castle!) for kids under six years old. It was all very, VERY exciting! There was a sausage sizzle afterwards and a visit to Auntie ‘Cole’s work on the way home :)
