… in shock…
For the first time ever, after telling Becky that it’s bedtime, she’s wandered into her bed (with her Thomas and digital photo frame in hand) laid down, pulled up the blankets and gone to sleep. All by herself.
…yup… in shock…
While I’m not expecting her to do it again tomorrow (heck, we’ll probably be back to ‘gaming her to sleep’ again) progress is most certainly progress. Way to go Becky!!!
Today Bailey had another birthday party, this time with his Kindy class – plus siblings and Becky :) Look at that cake!! Isn’t it awesome?
Today we celebrated Bailey’s third birthday – he’s into Thomas at the moment, if you have trouble working that out from the photos. What an awesome cake!
Sarah was absolutely THRILLED to discover that Ikea have added pancakes to their breakfast menu! Becky chowed down on a kid’s breakfast – for the bargain price of $1.50!) though, as you can see in the photo before it, she wasn’t so thrilled about waiting for it. Isn’t that a miserable face? Poor kiddo. Waiting is hard when you’re one.
It was also a memorable day for Sarah for another reason – she went into the Smaland play area for the first time! Talk about having a ball – literally, they have a ball pool. It took the offer of an ice cream to lure her out again :)
We seem to be visiting the Botanical Gardens at Mt Coot-tha quite a lot lately, but with our early spring here in Brisbane…. there’s few better places to be out and about to enjoy it.
This afternoon we packed a picnic, then went to a “Music Concert” as Sarah says, followed by some exploring and discovering in the gardens. Picnics are serious work! Just ask the girls. Have a look at the girls very different approaches to roll eating in the first photo ;)
The idea is shamelessly copied from something I saw for sale recently. I really like them! It’s funny to see that Becky started out as a much bigger baby than Sarah, and yet they’ve turned out quite the opposite!
Almost literally before the ink was dry on her last certificate, Sarah has graduated to the next swimming class! After just two lessons in Super Seals the supervisor promoted her to “Kickers” this morning. Yeay Sarah!
Sarah and Becky’s little friend James celebrated his 1st birthday today at the park. It was absolutely gorgeous weather for it! Sheridan, Charlotte, Bailey and ‘Cole were there too, so the girls had an awesome morning in the playground. Jim and David provided the ‘man power’ for the trains and Becky & Charlotte launched themselves into the sky on the swings. After the park the Sarah and Becky headed home to play Wii games with ‘Cole.
Have a closer look at what’s happening in the background in the pictures of Becky on the swing… in one of them you can see a neat ‘before and after’ shot of Sarah falling off a platform! SPLAT! She was right as rain though, dusted herself off and was back in the game straight away. She’s one tough kid, even in her pink party dress that she HAD to wear today.
Becky’s also been adding words to her vocabulary. Today we heard “eye” and “nose” for the first time. Cassie also got to hear her say “hat” … after Becky pointed Cassie’s hat out by whacking her on the head with a pink Barbie cup.
And then while we were (trying to!!) take a group photo with all of the children I was calling out to them to “SAY CHEEEESE!”. To which Sarah responded with “SAY BANANA!!!!”
