This morning I gave Sarah one of our old digital cameras… and she’s had a BALL! She’s been snapping like a crazed tourist all morning (half filling a 1gig card!) so here’s a gallery of some of the highlights, untouched and unedited :) She’s done a pretty awesome job, if I do say so myself!!
Tonight we made sushi for dinner. Becky’s a long time sushi fan, but this was the first time Sarah had gotten excited about it. Please pardon my trendy outfit, I’d just gotten home from the gym!
With the recent cold weather and an extra bed in the house this winter we’ve been experiencing a bit of a blanket shortage around here! So today we went to the sale at Pillowtalk where Becky and Sarah got to pick a new one each. Becky was very definite about wanting the red one – crash tackling it to the ground and then dragging it right across the shop to the cash register. Sarah picked a pretty teal coloured one for her bed. Neither of them could wait until we got home to try them out :)
It’s been uncannily warm weather for winter so far this year! We packed up some lunch and went to enjoy a picpic (as Sarah calls it) and a walk in the winter sunshine at Wynnum.
It’s with very bitter-sweet joy that Becky has reached her next milestone – baby lead weaning. At 18 months she’s decided to call it quits. I’m so proud of making it this far – esp in a society whose breastfeeding rates are so abysmally low – and even prouder and happier that I was able to let her take charge and decide for herself when she was ready to go “on the boobie wagon” as Cole puts it so eloquently. It felt much gentler this time around.
