Sarah and Becky’s Story!

Pretty much anything becomes an extreme sport, when you’re trying to do it with a 1 and 3 year old in tow! Here’s some baking action from today :)

“Leebs, Mummy! Leebs! Green leebs, yellow leebs!” Sarah was really excited to be allowed to run loose in Grandpa and Nana’s garden today. We ran out into the yard between showers to let off some been-cooped-up-in-the-house-for-days steam.

Sarah’s been watching Wiggles Space Dancing a bit lately :) She’s memorised the line that the Aliens say to the cows when they land on Earth. She even imitates the funny voices they have.

“How do you do? We come as Friends. You have beautiful eyes”

Becky’s cutting another top molar. I hope this one comes through faster than the other one which is STILL not down over a month later!!!! Stupid teeth.

This morning  at the table while munching down some oatmeal, for the first time ever Sarah said “I love you mummy” without me telling her that I loved her first. Aww :) Almost makes up for getting me up  before 6am though after being awake all night with her teething sister…

Mmmmm we made pikelets with Nana for Mother’s Day lunch – Becky especially liked the jam!

Having once been on the other side of the fence, I could only marvel at the efforts that Sarah’s teachers must have put in for today’s Mother’s Day morning tea! All the mums were presented with a yellow chrysanthemum before being taken down into the garden for morning tea – with fruit, cakes and other yummy munchies. It was a really, really lovely morning – and I won a lucky door prize!! A book voucher from QBD. Becky also had an awesome time, pottering about the playground and sandpit. I reckon she’ll be right at home there by the time she starts in Helen’s class in a few years!

Three VERY cute photos take by ‘Cole in the last couple of days. Sarah found one of Becky’s old (and never used…) dummies and took a moment to relive her childhood.

Today we went to see the Wiggles!! This time the concert was down at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre  – and I tell you what, I’d certainly consider seeing shows there again. Beats Boondall hands down – faster and easier to get to, better (and cheaper!) parking, newer and cleaner facilities… and it’s also right on the beach and near some awesome parks, so it’s got the potential for a great family day out.  This was essentially the same concert we saw jsut before Christmas last year with a couple of new songs and acrobatics thrown in – but it was a blast all the same.

After the concert we went for a snack and a run at Cascade Gardens, a park that I used to go to a lot as a kid – though they have all the cascades fenced off now! Click on Murry to see some more photos from the concert.

I don’t know whether to go buy a lotto ticket or start digging a bomb shelter – cos this could very well be a sign of impending apocalypse!
