Sarah and Becky’s Story!

And I just couldn’t bring myself to take her – I knew I’d cry… so Auntie ‘ Cole came to the rescue and held Becky while she got her 4 vaccinations – 3 needles and one mouthful of sticky stuff. The rota virus vaccine is now part of the schedule. I hate needles, I had taking my kids for them – but it’s the far lesser of two evils. Honestly, five minutes later Becky had forgotten all about it, though so had I. We had another drama to take our minds off it – Sarah getting her fingers shut in the door and the doctors!! She was perfectly fine too, not a scratch or a bruise to show for it. Phew! I’m glad I’ve got tough kids :)

Sarah and Becky’s friend Sheridan is starting Big School on Tuesday! She went with her mum to buy her new uniforms last week. Doesn’t she look all grown up!

This morning our friends Jenny, Jamie and their son Jack welcomed their newest member of their family into the world – Alexander James. Both he and Becky decided to nap during the visit, while I distracted Sarah with a drink, cookie and the Wiggles ;) How much bigger and older does Becky look now?!

Yup, we’ve started getting big grins from Becky this week. Never when I’ve got the camera handy, naturally… but I’m sure I’ll be able to get a photo for you soon. She’s so cute!

*sniff* I’m in the middle of folding the washing – a never-ending chore around here – and I’m already having to pack away some of Becky’s clothes to pass on. She’s heading into 000 sized clothes already. I can’t believe my baby is growing up so fast already!! It’s not fair *sniff*

Last Sunday night Sarah escaped out of her cot 17 times… so Monday morning it was time to meet our next major milestone – moving to a Big Bed. Or in this case, take the sides off the cot and convert it to a big bed :) The first night was a little rough, she must have gotten out of bed about 57 million times… but it’s been a few days now and we’re all getting the hang of it. She’s only rolled out 2 or 3 times so far. It’s a learning experience! The bed isn’t very high and we put a foam mat next to her on the floor to soften the landing. She looks so grown up!

This one is a little late… oops! Sarah’s fourteenth tooth finally popped through about a week ago. Just the bottom 2 ‘fangs’ and the 2 year old molars to go now – until she starts loosing them again and we start all over!

While waiting to see if Becky really was going to sleep this time I had a quick play with a photo that I snapped on Friday night at scrapbooking… I’m very impressed with my sleep-deprived self! It’s a beautiful photo, I think. Becky and her Uncle Jonathan

Auntie ‘Cole is looking for a new bed and Uncle Jonathan wanted to buy some lights for his computer desk, so this morning the girls and I packed the baby bag and headed for Ikea. My camera had fallen deep into the depths of the bag, hiding itself well under the nappies… I couldn’t find it in there, I thought I’d left it at home – so we snapped a few photos of the occasion on Nic’s phone instead. Yeay for modern technology!!
