Sarah and Becky’s Story!

This morning Sarah sat with Becky and introduced her to the Wiggles. Sarah will come and pat Becky’s head whenever I’m changing Becky’s nappy, have her on the floor or at ‘Sarah height’. She tries her hardest to be gentle, but there’s a fine line between “patting” and “whacking” when you’re almost two.

Sarah’s been bringing toys over for her too. The hard hat (that goes with the Tonka truck) was a bit much, but it was so cute when Sarah brought Ike over for Becky to kiss him :)

Ahh well… the photo has “character” at least. Sarah had been fine all morning – except for deliberately yelling at Sam to make him cry – until we got in line for our Santa photo… and then she had a screaming hissy fit about my seemingly unreasonable request to “please sit down in the pram before you fall out and land on your head”. All the commotion set poor Sammy off again too, so their photo looks somewhat similar to ours. Oops.

I decided though to get the photo taken anyway. It will go in her album just as it is, little red face, dummy, Ike and all. I guess in the scheme of things it’s not the worst Santa photo ever. Maybe 2008 will be our year for a happy photo :)

I’d been counting down to this day for ages… The Wiggles Concert!! Jim, Nicole, Sarah, Becky and I went to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre today to see my musical heroes in action :)

Santa came early to our house!

This evening we took Sarah and Becky to see the Christmas lights at a house a few blocks from our place – or rather Sarah saw the lights, while Becky pretty much slept through the whole thing in her sling.

We had a chat to the owners, it took them five weeks to put the display together. They have a visitors book that you can sign – Becky is officially their youngest ever visitor at eight days old!

In news that I guess really only a mum could get excited about, Becky’s cord fell off this afternoon :)

This afternoon I let Sarah loose with some paint. She took the job very seriously!

A midwife from the Mater came out today to give Becky a check up. I’m pleased to say that midwife said she was growing beautifully – and quickly! Becky now weighs 3458g! That’s 200g more than her birth weight and 400g more than she left the hospital with. She lost about 200g while we were waiting for my milk to come in – which it absolutely has with a vengeance since :) Ahh the joys of breastfeeding…
