I read this article today in a parenting newspaper. It’s a letter of sorts, written by the author to her angel baby – her baby that she never had the chance to meet.
I’ve learned in the last 9 months never to say “I know how you feel” when a much loved friend or even a total stranger shares with me that they have had a miscarriage. I might had to have walked a similar path, but I also had to find peace and understanding in my own way – just as they did or will have to. Every woman feels it differently.
But I have empathy and this woman’s pain, sadness – and hope – really spoke to me.
I think if more women were brave enough to share their stories of loss, then perhaps other women wouldn’t feel so alone when they have to walk down that path too.
Today is my due date for our little angel baby.
I think of you often, and even though I never got to see you little face, you will be in my heart forever.
Love from Mummy, Dadda, Sarah

Ok, so I think so! She’s started 3 block towers this evening – even managing a few four and five story versions. She’s so clever :D

My dad sent me this photo today. Yes, that’s me up at the window… I guess that explains where Sarah got her mountain goat climbing skills from.

While Peggy was busy performing some more star-trekesque physics on my dress, Sarah, Mum, Dad and I went over to Oma and Opa’s house for a visit.
It’s our Sarah’s 18 month birthday today!! To capture the moment Kerrie and I took the Sarahs to Carindale for their next official portrait. As I predicted, it was much harder to get them (and when I say them, I mean Sarah G…) to sit still than it was last time. It was nigh on impossible to get her to sit down at all!

One of the photo places had gone digital since we were there 6 months ago – mind you it still takes them 2 weeks to print the photos! – and so they gave us a quick print out with little thumbnails of all the cute photos they took, in an attempt to sucker us into getting more than just the freebie that comes with the bounty voucher. Didn’t work. But I did run the page through the scanner anyway so I had something for ‘show and tell’ :)

Considering the mood that Sarah G was in by the time these were taken, I’m surprised that she’s smiling in any of them! It was about 2 hours past nap time, so she was rather tired and probably hungry as she’d decided to go on food strike as well as pram strike for the day. Thank goodness I’d packed the ergo, cos’ I just haven’t the strength to carry her anymore – esp when she’s being a wriggle!

We’re getting the last one as the freebie. You don’t get to pick it, you just get the first one that they take in the session – which luckily turned out to be a lovely one!
