Sarah and Becky’s Story!

Ever the little social butterfly, today Sarah went to Munruben to visit her friend Jessica.

Finally, caught on camera for your viewing pleasure – and my chance to grin like a crazy twit, brag and boast :D – the most exciting piece of film that I’ll see all year. It’s Sarah’s Grandpa’s birthday tomorrow! So this evening we went out to dinner to celebrate – Sarah’s first time in a resturaunt… Jim and I were a little nervous about it as ‘Witching Hour’ has sometimes begun by then and life with Sarah can be very unpredictable. However Da lil Boo took it all in her stride – even if I did have to go and borrow a dustpan and brush to tidy up under her chair.

After dinner she hit the playground with Dadda & Auntie ‘Cole, Nanna and Grandpa. Mum was operating the camera – that is until a security guard came up and told me that you were not allowed to take photographs at the Hyperdome. Which, as it turns out, was a bit of a relief as I thought he was coming to tell us off for letting Sarah crawl all over the stage with was clearly marked with a big “KEEP OFF THE STAGE” sign. There were no “YOU CAN’T TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS” signs though.

Wednesday saw the Sarahs take a trip to Carindale to have some portraits taken together. We pick the photos up in two weeks – they are going to be adorable. As well as the photo shoot, the Sarahs explored Target and ‘did lunch’. They also fell asleep at the some time… something that hasn’t happend in months and months and months – which is why I took a photo of it, naturally ;)

On Tuesday Nic, Nic and I (yes, it did get a little confusing at times!) went to Forest Lake to explore a scrapbooking shop and then to check out a kiddie cafe that had an indoor playground similar to the ones that we visited in Warragul & Upwey. Sarah – or “the little Mountain Goat” made short work of the little fence around the toddler area, and with Auntie ‘Cole in tow, made a beeline for the Big Kid Area.

OMG OMG OMG!!!  Sarah just took a step – ie. stood unaided, moved one foot, moved the other foot, wobbled a bit then sat down. I didn’t have the camera handy, but as Jim and Auntie ‘Cole as my witnesses, you’ll have to take my word for it until we can convince her to do it again for the camera.

That’s not to say that we didn’t have a lovely time and that Sarah’s Great Aunt Kaz wasn’t the most welcoming, wonderful host who didn’t mind us move the furniture around to stop Sarah escaping or kissing the tv… But there really is no place like your own bed.

Or your daughter in her own room in her own bed! Sarah is the most inconsiderate co-sleeper when we’re away from home. On the last day it literally was “And the little one said ‘Roll Over!’. So they all rolled over and Mum fell out!” At home she won’t settle in our bed unless she’s sick, and even then Jim or I usually end up on the couch anyway.

I’ll be posting lots of pictures from the trip soon, maybe with the same nifty viewer thingy that I did the Newcastle photos with if Sarah will let me have the time to do it.

We’re all having a great time and Sarah is being doted on something crazy by her Great Aunt, Great Grandfather and other assorted relatives.

The weather is… well, very Victorian (were we really expecting anything else? :)) Yesterday was beach weather and today we’re almost needing to go out and buy a beanie and scarf!

We’ll be home soon, bringing with us a tonne – well, a few SD memory cards – of photos. See you next week!!
