Sarah and I touched down safely at the airport yesterday after our trip to visit Lucy, Gabriel and their family in Newcastle. I think we can add “pilot” to the list of possible future careers for Sarah, she didn’t mind the aeroplane at all! For all the pictures of our Novacastrian Adventures click on the photo below.
Tomorrow Sarah and I are off on a real adventure! Her very first plane trip! We are going down the Newcastle to visit Lucy and Gabriel for a few days. It’s going to be very exciting :) We’ll be back in Brisbane on Saturday.
Our daughter is in the water so often you’d be forgiven to think she’s a dolphin. Well, perhaps a tadepole :) Here are another set of pool photos, this time at Gould Adams Park with her Auntie ‘Cole, Nanna and Grandpa. Nanna was trying out her new camera (with some pretty neat results, don’t you think?) so I’m actually in a few of the pictures! As usual click on the photo about to see the rest of the pool adventure photos.
I guess you need to know what it’s like to be a first time parent to really understand why I’d be so excited about this as to get up and post it on the internet… but SARAH JUST DRANK OUT OF A CUP WITH A STRAW!!! Yeay Sarah :) She’s such a big girl.

This time with Auntie ‘Cole, Rachel, and Ty! We went to AJs Pool, just a few streets from our house for an afternoon splash.
After the sun had gone down a little yesterday and the temperature had dropped, in Nic’s words from “freaking ridiculous” down to plain “pretty warm still”, Sarah, Kormos, Nicole, Jim and I went to the Puli Park to give Kormos a run and to let Sarah loose on the tree house. Decked out in her knee pads and boardies, she and Kormos were both utterly pooped by the time we came home.
Here are a few happy snaps of Sarah and my trip to the local pool this afternoon. The water in the kiddie pool was actually pretty cold, but Sarah didn’t seem to mind at all! The pebbles on the bottom were a little rough on her little knees and feet, so next time we might try a variation on the ‘Garden Sock’ idea (see below) to let her have a bit more of a crawl.
Sarah’s swimming lessons start again next week. I think she’s been missing the pool! After a splash in the kiddie pool we went for a ‘serious’ swim in the deep water, followed by some “monkey monkey” practice in the warm hydrotherapy pool.
Here are some photos of Sarah and Kormos. Sarah discovered the puddles of rainwater in the wading pools after heading over to see what Kormos was doing there – he loves drinking rain water. Incase you are wondering, yes, that is a pair of Jim’s socks that Sarah is wearing. I put them on the protect her knees and the tops of her feet while she was outside.
