Sarah’s First Santa Photo

Christmas came early at Sarah’s swimming lesson today! After a dip in the pool Sarah got to sit on Santa’s knee and got a little packet of jelly beans after putting in her Christmas order – and nearly pulling his beard off…

The Blankie has been found :)

Woohoo! After several top-to-bottom searches of the house, several phone calls and email to everyone I’ve even thought about in the last 2 months Sarah’s lost blankie has been located… I left it at Grant’s house when we had lunch there. Oops :)

Gimme that ball!

Last night we had dinner with Kerrie and Peter before I went to band. The Sarahs played with Tim’s spiderman ball, taking turns snatching it from one another and slobbering all over it.

The Sarahs Take Ikea

Filed under: Sarah — Wendy at 11:06 pm on Friday, November 17, 2006

Thursday was a very exiting day: The Sarahs’ first trip to Ikea! With Auntie ‘Cole and Auntie Gail in tow, the pair set off to explore the giant new Ikea store at Logan. Its huge! It has two floors of shopping, two cafes, a food market (where you can buy frozen swedish meetballs!!) and a big, big children’s play area.

And the crappiest parent room facilities in South East Qld!

You’d think in a brand new building that is bigger than the ‘Gabba they could have sprung for something a little bigger than your average wardrobe? I’m not kidding. You can’t fit more than about 6 prams in there without some serious precision parking (or stacking!) and there are TWO places on the bench for nappy changing. There are no facilities for heating food or bottles – though admittedly there is one in the cafe down the hall a little – and only ONE private area for breastfeeding. There are two other chairs in the main area… right in front of a clear glass sliding door! And the chairs are utterly IMPOSSIBLE to breastfeed in!! They have really high arms which makes it very difficult to feed without some serious baby origami. You should have seen Kerrie and I perfoming all sorts of acrobatics in there…

Ok, vent over. Bring on the photos!

Another GW addict in the making?

Ok, so we all know what I think of Guild Wars ;) but these photos were just to cute not to post. Sarah thought the box of Dadda’s new game was just facinating.

Knee Pads!

Filed under: Sarah — Wendy at 10:46 pm on Sunday, November 5, 2006

As Sarah is now getting up in her hands and knees, full on crawling is not very far away. She was already getting carpet burn from rocking back and forth so I bought her a pair of “Comfy Crawlers” to make this whole ‘moving’ caper a little easier on her knees. She’s going to be crawling though summer and we have a really rough surface on the concrete outside. I don’t want to be having to dress the poor little thing in long pants for the next few months every time she wants to head out and explore the great outdoors.

Here are a few photos of Sarah and her new fashion accessory – purple denim with white stars and moons :)
