Sarah’s New Trick – Zen Bungy!

Filed under: Sarah — Wendy at 8:03 pm on Sunday, July 30, 2006

This evening Sarah was having a ball in her jolly jumper, bouncing higher and higher. Suddenly she lifted her feet off the floor and hovered there for a few seconds. Jim and I both laughed, so she did it again and again! She even did a very serious little demo for me to video :D

Click on the photo below to see a movie (1.5mg) of Sarah doing Zen Bungy.

Movie Stars!

Yesterday the two Sarahs went to their very first move – Pirates of the Caribbean 2 at a Babes in Arms session at Chermside. It’s a movie session that is parent friendly. To quote their website:

Babes in Arms sessions are just for you and all the other parents who have missed the best the big screen has to offer just because the apple of their eye decides to compete with the Dolby surround system. Everybody is in the same boat at these screenings – and a lot of the audience is in nappies. So nobody cares.

The Sarahs were mesmerised by the big screen. Sarah Kate would gaze at the Big TV in awe, then up at her mum as if to say “Oi! Is that for real? We have so got to get one of these at home!” Sarah Madison actually watched quite a bit of the movie, snacking and dozing off whenever she felt like it.

We had a great time!!  Birch Carol & Coyle cinemas have Babes in Arms sessions at most of their cinemas on a Wednesday morning at 10:30am.

Warning Labels

Filed under: Sarah — Wendy at 9:32 am on Saturday, July 22, 2006
I wonder if this is what the label meant by “MAY CAUSE DROWSINESS…DO NOT OPERATE MACHINERY”?

Sniffle Snuffly… or “Here, Mr Chemist, here’s my purse. Help yourself!”

Poor little Sarah has had a bit of a cold for weeks now, she just doesn’t seem to be able to get rid of it. We went to the doctors today – our usual GP was away and the replacement guy didn’t bulk bill… but its one of those times that you find the money anyway. After handing over $80 :”Yes, Mrs Gooch, you’re right. She’s got a cold” Great. It’s either a non-specific allergic reaction from her young immune system or a viral infection. In either case there isn’t much to be done except lots of warm cuddles and love. He’s prescribed baby Polaramine to help dry up her nose, which will in turn help to stop the up-chucking.

Then after all of that, I get Sarah back into the car to discover that she’s managed to kick off both her socks – I’d been carrying her in her sling. So back to the chemist we trekked… A man overheard me asking the lady in the chemist if she’d seen two stray socks.

“Excuse me, you mean blue and white ones?” he asked. “Yes!!” I replied “I saw one outside the dry cleaners and another one in Pick ‘n’ Pay” he said.

So back we dashed to the Pick ‘n’ Pay, and sure enough, in the baby aisle, there was a lonely blue and white baby sock. The other one, sadly, is remains MIA. I asked at a few of the shops, and at the dry cleaners… even Centre Management.

I only bought the socks on Wednesday!!

MISSING SOCK

Have you seen this sock? Size 1-3 blue and white Holeproof Explorer Baby Sock. Last seen acting suspiciously around the dry cleaners at Sunnybank Hills. The sock is not thought to be armed or dangerous…

On a brighter note, it’s our 4th wedding anniversary today! :)

Sarah’s Stats

Filed under: Sarah — Wendy at 5:32 pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2006

Little Sarah was very brave for her 4 month needles today. Another 3 – two in one leg, one in the other. There are just the 6 month ones now, then we are all clear until next March.

She was also weighed and measured today and I’ve added her latest statistics to her “Watch Me Grow” page – there’s a link for it on the top right hand side of the site. Each month I add a new photo and her height and weight. It’s amazing to see how big she’s gotten already.

Cool Dude :)

Gail and Michael’s Engagement Party

Filed under: Sarah — Wendy at 1:03 pm on Sunday, July 9, 2006

Last night Sarah, Jim and I joined in the celebrations for Gail and Michael’s engagement at the North Lakes Golf Club. It was a wonderful evening, and the first formal party that Sarah had ever been too! She was facinated by the balloons and lights and she also go to catch up with her little friend Jessica. Jessica’s mum, Penny, and I will be bridesmaids at Gail and Michael’s wedding next year.

Gail and Michael
Nanna kidnapped Sarah as soon as we arrived!
Table 8 – Me, Sarah, Jim, Nic, Dad and Mum.
The cake was a very very yummy stake of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts!
Sarah, Jessica and their Daddies!
My goal is to one day get a photo of them smiling at the same time!
Gail said we could take the balloons home too :)
Sarah thought they were facinating.
