The ‘Kea to bear fashion…
Sarah informed me this morning that ‘Kea needed a new nappy this morning – his other one is in the wash. It’s what all the cool baby Ike/Kea bears are wearing :)

I spent an hour or so this morning Michelangelo style, putting the solar system and one hundred glow-in-the-dark stars that Sarah received for her birthday on the ceiling of the girls room – including what I hope to be reasonably accurate interpretations of the Piscium and Sagittarii constellations! In any case, the girls were seriously under-whelmed when I called them in to check out my work. Hopefully it will be more impressive this evening when the room is dark… The stars are somewhat unevenly spread across the sky as I didn’t want to put any where Sarah could reach them – or be tempted to even try and reach for them – from the top of her bed. The paint on the ceiling in there is probably the original that came with the house and threatened to peel off even with the bluetac I was using and they are far to tempting to her little fingers to be left alone :)
I was actually rather sad to discover that it was a technically accurate solar system in the box. IAU be damned, Pluto will always be a planet to me! We put a little star up at the end for Pluto. Becky seems too be too little to be pointing to the wall and shrieking “SATURN!!”. Very nerdy, very cute.
After the stars had been glanced at, Sarah and Becky were playing on Becky’s bed and were all to willing to smile and giggle (but not hold still!!)Â for the camera :)
We were invited to dinner and wii at Cobey’s house this evening. All afternoon Cobey was standing by the door, watching every car that went passed. He was so serious about it that Nikki took a photo and asked him what he was up to.
“What are you doing, Cobey?”
“I’m waiting for Sarah”
The culmination of a HUGE weekend – today we went to see the Wiggles in concert, along with the Stangherlins and ‘Cole. Sarah was transfixed, while Becky seemed to take the “Wiggles Concert” literally. She squirmed, climbed, wriggled, wormed, crawled and danced the entire time. The stage this time was somewhat minimalist with a lot of acrobatics. When I’m 60 I hope to be half as flexible as Jeff!
On Friday Charlotte graduated from PrePrep. She’s off to Big School with her sister next year! Adding to the excitement for Sarah and Becky, we took the bus and the train to the ceremony! Sarah made sure the bus driver knew all about it, explaining in some detail that we were “off to a school day for Charlotte’s ‘gadgation!!!”
Today Bailey had another birthday party, this time with his Kindy class – plus siblings and Becky :) Look at that cake!! Isn’t it awesome?
The idea is shamelessly copied from something I saw for sale recently. I really like them! It’s funny to see that Becky started out as a much bigger baby than Sarah, and yet they’ve turned out quite the opposite!
